Preschool outdoor space transformed thanks to Tesco Bags of Help campaign

This has been an exceptional year for our village Preschool. Our various fundraising events (the Christmas Fair in December 2015, the pancake races and bake sale on Shrove Tuesday and our fabulous Easter egg raffle) have all been incredibly well supported by the local community and have raised considerable sums that have gone directly into making improvements at the Preschool setting. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us. We have managed to buy new balance bikes, colorful rugs for the main room, new books and sand timers.

As if this wasn't enough we have been incredibly lucky to have received a £12000 grant from the Tesco Bags of Help campaign which has been used to transform our old outdoor play area. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us in this campaign! Our superb new outdoor play area includes a rope ladder, slide, sensory bridge, tunnel and climbing wall, as well as activity stations including an interactive clock, a weather station and chalk board. The kids are thoroughly enjoying exploring their newly developed outdoor area.

This wonderful new area was put to great use on Thursday 21st April as the Preschool held a garden tea party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. The kids enjoyed singing and dancing along to music (with bubble machine!) and tucking into their party food.

Gala Day Float 2017

The new Outdoor canopy built in June 2017 and our wonderful new classroom extension

The extension was built by our very own Louise and her husband Dean over the summer holidays.

Heating and lighting installation was finished in October half term, allowing us to declare this new area officially open on November 20th 2017.

The classroom will predominantly be used for quieter activities, reading, writing and small group learning.
